Title:  Conclusion:

The Bible is the sacred Book, or collection of books, accepted by the Christian Church as uniquely inspired by God, and thus authoritative, providing guidelines for belief and behavior.

Despite the diversity of the Bible books and their separation in time, there are several unifying themes that run through both the Old and New Testaments:

  • There is only one true God. He created all that is the universe and takes an active, ongoing and loving role in its maintenance.
  • God loves His people of all races, nationalities and religions, and seeks their love in return.
  • God created men and women with the power to choose between good and evil. We are called to do good by serving God and respecting our fellow human beings of the world. Evil is a constant temptation that we must do our best to resist.
  • God seeks the salvation of all people, individually and collectively, from the power of sin and evil. God has intervened directly in human affairs and has also sent the prophets and, finally, His Son Jesus, the Messiah or Christ, to help us with that salvation.

God loves His people so much He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, but God knew in His infinite knowledge that we needed help; He gave us His Holy Spirit, with the book of Proverbs to live by. God look down through the corridors of life and saw we needed instructions to live by, especially after Adam and Eve's mistake. We have the Pentateuch, the Historical books, the Wisdom books, the books of prophecy, the Gospel, the Acts of the Apostles, the Letters of Apostle Paul, and other letters alone with the Revelation. These letters were also written to encourage, instruct, correct the early Christian, and us as well. The Book of Proverbs is one of the books of wisdom, and it has many instructions for us to live by daily.

The quality of wisdom that Proverbs presents is much more than the ability to apply knowledge to various situations in life effectively. It also involves submission to the way of God that is the order of life God has revealed as best for men and women. It is possible for people to think correctly and to speak and act wisely with no direct knowledge of divine revelation. However people of this type possess only limited wisdom.

The wise person is one who takes God into account. He realizes his own limitations and his need for divine guidance. He listens to and applies what God has revealed to his own life. The foolish person believes he does not need God's help. He closes his ears and his mind to God's revelation. He goes his own way. The wise person becomes a success eventually while the fool suffers destruction.

1.      To Fear God means to Live in Light of His Power

2.      To Fear God means to Live in Light of His Presence

3.      To Fear God means to Live in Light of His Precepts, and finally

4.      To Fear God means to Live in Light of His Provision

The conclusion to it all is the motto of the Book of Proverbs—indeed all of the wisdom literature of the Old Testament is Proverbs 1:7: The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. This is one of those indicative statements, not an admonition. It is a statement of fact! However, there is another fact stated here: "fools despise wisdom and instruction." They who are fools refuse to work hard at discovering the "proverb," the "figure," the "riddles," as Proverbs 1:6 says. As Psalm 36:1 also says, "Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes." We have studies the book of Proverbs because we truly believe and have the fear of the God in us. Digging deep has truly been a blessing. Especially know and understanding the parallelisms of the Book of Proverbs.  The parallelism has helped us to understand the book more clearly.  As said in the study, the Book of Proverbs is not a famous book because it is difficult to understand.  After looking into this subject of parallelism, insight has been given. Remember this when you read the book.

In the end, our work habits are shaped by our character, which, in turn, is shaped by knowledge of our Lord's revelation and our awe of Him. As we come to know our Lord more intimately, our character is transformed to become like God's character. Indeed, "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 9:10). Wisdom brings life to all spheres of life, including the workplace, where most of us spend the largest part of our waking hours. Wisdom leads us to trustworthy actions, to diligence, to wholesome shrewdness, to generosity and justice for those in need, to controlling what we say, and to humble living. In wisdom, we trust God to shape our destiny and take charge of our ends. "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Prov. 16:3).

Proverbs is a good book once you read it with understanding.  It will guide you into truth and righteousness.  As I was reading Psalm 136   I saw God's wisdom; listen to this, O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endure forever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endure forever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endure forever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endure forever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endure forever.  To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endure forever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endure forever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endure forever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endure forever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endure forever: And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endure forever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endure forever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endure forever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endure forever: But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endure forever. To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endure forever. To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endure forever: And slew famous kings: for his mercy endure forever: Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endure forever: And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endure forever: And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endure forever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endure forever. Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endure forever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endure forever. Who give food to all flesh: for his mercy endure forever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endure forever. God has given us that same wisdom through the book of Proverbs.

God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; courage to change the things we can, and the WISDOM to know the different, amen…..
