BIBLE STUDY: “KNOWING GOD’S WILL” Week # 9 Inserted Lesson:

Subject:      "How can I know God's will for my life? What does the Bible say about knowing God's will?"

It is important to know God's will. Jesus said that His true relations are those who know and do the Father's will: "Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother" (Mark 3:35). In the parable of the two sons, Jesus rebukes the chief priests and elders for failing to do the will of the Father; specifically, they "did not repent and believe" (Matthew 21:32). At its most basic, the will of God is to repent of our sin and trust in Christ. If we have not taken that first step, then we have not yet accepted God's will.

Once we receive Christ by faith, we are made God's children (John 1:12), and He desires to lead us in His way (Psalm 143:10). God is not trying to hide His will from us; He wants to reveal it. In fact, He has already given us many, many directions in His Word. We are to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We are to do good works (1 Peter 2:15). And "it is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality" (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

God's will is knowable and provable. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will." This passage gives us an important sequence: the child of God refuses to be conformed to the world and instead allows himself to be transformed by the Spirit. As his mind is renewed according to the things of God, then he can know God's perfect will.

As we seek God's will, we should make sure what we are considering is not something the Bible forbids. For example, the Bible forbids stealing; since God has clearly spoken on the issue, we know it is not His will for us to be a bank robbers—we don't even need to pray about it. Also, we should make sure what we are considering will glorify God and help us and others grow spiritually.
Knowing God's will is sometimes difficult because it requires patience. It's natural to want to know all of God's will at once, but that's not how He usually works. He reveals to us a step at a time—each move a step of faith—and allows us to continue to trust Him. The important thing is that, as we wait for further direction, we are busy doing the good that we know to do (James 4:17).

Often, we want God to give us specifics—where to work, where to live, whom to marry, what car to buy, etc. God allows us to make choices, and, if we are yielded to Him, He has ways of preventing wrong choices (see Acts 16:6–7).

The better we get to know a person, the more acquainted we become with his or her desires. For example, a child may look across a busy street at the ball that bounced away, but he doesn't run after it, because he knows "my dad wouldn't want me to do that." He doesn't have to ask his father for advice on every particular situation; he knows what his father would say because he knows his father. The same is true in our relationship to God. As we walk with the Lord, obeying His Word and relying on His Spirit, we find that we are given the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). We know Him, and that helps us to know His will. We find God's guidance readily available. "The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight, / but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness" (Proverbs 11:5).

If we are walking closely with the Lord and truly desiring His will for our lives, God will place His desires in our hearts. The key is wanting God's will, not our own. "Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).

Please read these scriptures (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 103:3; Matthew 4:23, 8:3. Revelation 22:6.

Week # 9:   Weekly prayer:

God, you know me better than I know myself. You know my fears and my desires. You know how much I want this. You know how much I will be devastated if this doesn't happen. I know you love me. I know you have a plan for me. Please, Lord, don't let my desires blind me to your will. If this is not within your plan for me, throw up a Brick Wall. Give me an obstacle I cannot get past. Help me follow your will, Father. Give me peace about whatever is to come. If this falls through, I will know it is your hand. Thank you for loving me, Lord, sometimes my situations will hinder me from knowing Your will at that very moment, I pray for Your will to be done in my life, and that when it take place I will know it's You and Your will for me. Thank You, Lord, for letting me know when it's Your will, the enemy, or my flesh. Thank You for revealing this to me right now in Jesus' name. Father God, teach us to see Your will operating in our lives as they did in Bible days. We do experience miracles, but sometimes we just can't see them. Help us, Lord. Through lessons we have been taught that about Your healing power, and knowing Your will and plan for us. Thank You, Lord. Father God, open the eyes of our hearts in Jesus' name, Amen

My Confession:

Week # 8 NUGGETS:

Take a look at your circumstances.

God often clearly demonstrates His plan for our lives by lining up circumstances in obvious ways. And He also shows us what His will is NOT for us to do in that same way. It is not His will for you to take the job that is not offered to you. If you are 5’ 6” tall and weigh 125 lbs., it is not likely that God has created you to play professional football.

Over the years, I have discovered that God is pretty good at opening and closing doors. He even did that for the Apostle Paul and his enter ouge in Acts. Take a look at this passage:

Acts 16:6-10

6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. 7 After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. 8 So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. So, even Paul had to face closed doors in his ministry. God often uses closed doors to show us clearly what He does NOT want us to do. And He also uses open doors at times to show us what He DOES want us to do. Of course, this does not mean that every open door is definitely God’s plan, but it does help to give you some basic direction.

BIBLE STUDY: WEEK # 8

My Confessions:

God’s will for me is that I walk in perfect health. So when sickness tries to attack me, I don’t wonder whether or not it’s from God. It isn’t! So, I don’t put up with it. I command sickness to leave in Jesus’ name. God’s power is effecting a healing and a cure throughout my body.

I refused help, but it hurt so bad at first, they had to help me, those who believe admired what I was doing. My niece, my brother, my sister all helped me get dressed, and I went to have breakfast as I had planned. Thank God it was my left knee, my brother drove for me then, but I was able to drive, in pain, but I use tenacity that day, over looked the pain through the next two nights; my family didn’t let me stay at the hotel, so I stayed with my sister. I got up that Sunday morning and went back to work. My knee had swollen by this time, but I drove back to work (one hour); everyone tried to get me to go to the ER; NO, I said! It lasted for a few days, but I felt it when God healed me, and I was so happy!!! I stood on God’s Word and kept repeating (the Word). BIBLE STUDY: “KNOWING GOD’S WILL” Week # 8

 "Step Out on the Word"

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. [Jesus] spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam…He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. —John 9:1, 6, 7

Here was a man who had been blind from birth. Jesus walked over to him, spit in the dirt, made clay of the spittle, smeared the clay on the man's eyes, and said, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam." That man could've said, "What do You mean, 'go wash in the pool of Siloam'? Look, Jesus, I don't need a bath—I need my sight! What is mud going to do? Everyone will laugh at me. I'm waiting for You to work a miracle here." Instead, He obeyed what Jesus told him to do with no feeling and no manifestation. Every symptom was still there; he was still blind. The only difference was he now had mud in his eyes. But Jesus said, "Go," and the man went. Jesus gave him an opportunity to walk by faith, and the blind man took off on the Word of God alone. That was his faith in operation. He went, he washed, and he came again seeing. But he had to step out on the word Jesus spoke before he saw results—and that's how he got results. Find out what God has said about your situation, and then step out on that Word. Let your faith release God's power in your life.

My Confession: I take God at His Word, even when I'm not able to see my answer. Jesus says I'm healed, so I am.

Please read these scriptures (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Psalm 103:3; Matthew 4:23, 8:3. Revelation 22:6.

My Confessions:

GLORY TO GOD!

This is a great study, just can't do as much as I would love to!

Week # 7 NUGGETS:

Listen to your heart.

In addition to listening to the Spirit, I also recommend listening to your heart. To understand my point here, consider the following passage:

Psalms 37:4-5

4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. (NKJV)

I love this passage, because it shows me that, when I am walking with the Lord, He will actually let me do many really cool things that I actually love to do! When you are close to Him, He actually begins to shape your desires so that you desire the things that He has already called you to do.

So then, His plan actually becomes a super-exciting adventure. I always have the most fun in life when I am doing God’s will. And that is because He shapes my “wanter” to want to do the things for which He has actually created me.

Week # 7 My Confessions:

I can’t say this enough, because it’s my testimony. I am blessed, healed, and highly favored by God Almighty. Jesus died for me to be saved, sanctified, and filled with God’s Holy Spirit. I thank God, Jesus, and You Holy Spirit for all you have done in my life.

Week # 7:    According to this study: Questions

1).        What did Jesus means when He said, “I will”?

From my understanding of my Saviors’ nature, He meant, “It is God’s will to heal you when you need healing in your body.” It means yes! It means He was expressing His desire to do something good about the man’s situation.  I like this one! He was demonstrating His love for that man.

2).        Look at Matthew 8:2, 3; what do you think it means “he worshipped Him”?

He gave Jesus reverence, honor, glory, praise and he exalted the Lord highly; he also believed in Him and believed in His Words (Matthew 9:18; 15:25).

3).        What was one of Jesus’ purposes for His coming to earth?

His purpose for coming to earth was to destroy all the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), including sickness and disease.

Yes, I know, the same Scriptures. It is so important to get these Scriptures in your spirit, so you can use them when the enemy attack your body with sickness. Some Christians don't understand this, but it's the Word that speak to the symptoms and you agree with it that heals your body; read them and you will see!!!

Bible Study: "Knowing God's Will" Week # 7

DEVOTIONAL SHARING:

“Set Your Heart on a Pilgrimage to Do God’s will”

Scripture:  Psalm 84:4-7

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.”

My Prayer for Today:

Father, my heart is set on a pilgrimage to do Your will. The vision is before me and your strength is within me. “Though I pass through the valley of tears, it shall become a spring filled with joy. In You, I move from strength to strength, ever increasing in power and prosperity, and in the end I shall take my place in heaven as a son/daughter in the royal family of the King. (1 Peter 1:4; 1 John 5:11)

My Confession for Today:

I dwell in the very house of God, and I am blessed in every way. I make the valley of tears a spring filled with joy. I have remarkable ability to do the task that is set before me. My unique talent and gifting causes me to be a blessing to the world. I press on from endeavor to endeavor and increase from strength to strength. I am a self-actualized son/daughter of God who is a tremendous blessing just because I am who He created me to be. I will!
