"I Will"
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. —Matthew 8:2, 3
Jesus did two things when He was moved with compassion: He touched the leper, and He said something to him. I always thought the moment Jesus touched someone, that person was healed. But this man's leprosy didn't depart until Jesus said something. Apparently, His words were as important as His touch. What did Jesus say to the leper? "Be thou clean." He gave the command for the leprosy to depart. But He also said something else—the phrase most Christians are looking for—"I will." Notice Jesus didn't say, "I won't" or "Later." He didn't say, "This disease is good for you" or "You deserve this" or "God sent this leprosy to teach you something." Jesus didn't have to fast and pray to find out God's will. He just said, "I will." He knew God's will. He also knew one of His purposes for coming to earth was to destroy all the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), including sickness and disease. Part of Jesus' commission was to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, and bring deliverance to all mankind. God never told Jesus to just seek out a few here and there who needed healing. Jesus was sent to heal all. So when the leper said, "If You will," Jesus responded, "Of course I will! God's will is healing for all mankind!"
My Confession: My Father sent Jesus to destroy the works of the devil, including sickness. Sickness isn't God's plan for me. Therefore, by faith I receive healing.

Week # 7: Weekly Prayer:
Father, thank You for not leaving us with no help in this world. By the Holy Spirit, teach us all things and bring all things we need to our remembrance. We need Your Holy Spirit to bring all that You have said to us in Your Word. Help us to never forget the lessons we have learned and the progress we have made this far. Keep backsliding far from us. Improve our performance every day as we step forward in the path of Your will. Help us to turn a deaf ear to those who turn You into a killjoy. Your Word declares that You rejoice in my prosperity and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. It is You who gives us power to get wealth and healing, and to enjoy the benefits. You keep us occupied with the joy of our hearts. The thing that brings us the most fulfillment is the thing You have called us to do. It is easy for us to say, "Thy will be done," for Your will is the root of our happiness. Bless us to enjoy that happiness here on earth too. Lord, bless each and every one of these studies to be and encouragement to all who read them, and bless us to share them with others. Lord God, please bless the election this week to be in Your hands no matter what they may do, we are remembering that You said, "the heart of the king is in Your hand." Father God, keep us until Your Son Jesus return for Your people who are called by Your name. This we petition in Jesus' name, AMEN.
